Why Sacrifice?
“If you do not sacrifice for what you want, what you want becomes the sacrifice” - Melony Rae
Everybody has wants. As humans, we are built to hold dreams and desires.
We dream of the perfect job, spouse, house, and family. We desire for community, safety, and health.
But it is easy to dream. It is hard to sacrifice.
The dream and the sacrifice it takes to fulfill the dream go hand in hand.
It is your Golden Vision that helps mitigate the pain of the sacrifice. If you are aware of what you are sacrificing for, it will be easier to sacrifice.
It will be easier, not easy.
I want to be able to actively play with my grandkids (the dream) therefore I need to workout to stay in shape (the sacrifice).
If you have the vision of saving money for a house, it makes it easier to not waste money on other minor wants.
Your dream can reduce the pain of your sacrifice.
The question then becomes: What is the dream you are sacrificing for or are you sacrificing the dream?
Because either way you are sacrificing something.
Maybe the challenge is identifying the dream. You are trying to figure out the next mountain to climb.
If your Golden Vision is more like a blurry picture then you start feeling the full weight of your sacrifices.
You start going through the motions or cutting corners because you have lost sight of your dreams and desires.
The beautiful thing about your dreams and desires is that they are waiting for you to discover them.
They are there, I promise. They are just hard to find sometimes.
When I start losing sight of my dreams I start cutting out distractions. I know that every person has dreams and desires but sometimes they are hidden deep within.
Removing distractions can be anything from deleting YouTube and Netflix to a 48 hour fast. Push yourself out of your comfort zone (sacrifice) and focus on what you really want out of life.
Then be patient.
By removing distractions or making yourself uncomfortable (Iron Horse) you start to remove the blur from your vision.
Your vision becomes golden.
There is no better time to start honing in your vision than right now. Your dreams and desires are your superpower. It is your fuel and motivation.
It is where your sacrificed should be aimed. If your sacrificed is aim elsewhere then your dream will become your sacrifice.
Go out and discover your dream. Go out and sacrifice for your dream.
Go out and make a difference.
