Do you keep your word?
I think the majority of us take pride in honoring our word and doing what we said we were going to do.
We want people to see us as dependable and trustworthy.
If we don’t keep our word to the people around us then we typically face immediate consequences.
But what about keeping our word to ourselves?
There are countless times when I am going to bed that I tell myself, “I am going to get up early and go to the gym.”
Then I choose to sleep in instead.
That would never happen if told someone I was going to pick them up and go to the gym.
We value our word when we give it to someone.
And we tend to devalue our word when we give it to ourselves.
Once we start breaking our word to ourselves we start to lose confidence and trust with ourselves.
The actions you take, the things you commit to, even internally, they matter.
Are you a man of your word even when no one else hears it?
Prove it to yourself. Not for anybody else. Prove to yourself that you can trust your word.
Go out and make a difference
