Time Is Running Out

Your Life In Weeks

“Time is our most valuable asset, yet we tend to waste it, kill it, and spend it rather than invest it.” -Jim Rhon

The average life expectancy in the US is 77 years. That is 924 months, 4,004 weeks, or ~ 28,105 days.

If you are 25 years old that means you have (on average) 624 months, 2,704 weeks, or ~18,980 days left on this earth.

Time is one of only resources everyone has and that no one can avoid or return.

Everyone agrees that time is our most valuable asset but do our actions back it up?

My question to you this week is simple: Are you spending your time or are you investing your time?

What we do with our time ultimately turns us into the people we are.

With the average screen time in the US climbing up to 7 hours a day, it is easy to see how we are spending our time.

Reebok conducted a survey of 9,000 people across 9 different countries to see how they were spending their time. The results were shocking.

  • Average person spends:

    •  41% (10,625 days) of their life interacting with screens.

    • 29.7% (7,709 days) of their life sitting down.

    • .68% (180 days) of their life working out.

    • 6.8% (1,765 days) of life with family and loved ones.

Numbers can bring a sobering reality and time has yet to be defeated.

The only way to beat time is to use it wisely.

Time is the first and ultimate currency. You have to intentionally invest it in order to grow.

Waitbutwhy.com created an incredible visual of the typical American life in the form of weeks. With each row representing a year and each box representing a week.

By putting time into perspective we can avoid its trap of abundance. Time is running out, it is not endless.

The antidote to time is immediate action.

“Do not put off until tomorrow what you can do today.”  -Benjamin Franklin

The time to act is now. No more delaying or procrastination.

There is no reversing time. Time is on your side until you look up one day and its all of sudden against you.

Let’s make the most of this coveted resource. Let’s invest our time into becoming the person we are created to be. Let’s befriend time and be proud of the way we invest it.

And let’s be set apart by intentionally investing your time.

Go out and make a difference.
