We live in the age of information.
With a swipe of a finger we can access just about anything.
There are 720,000 hours(or 82.2 years) of content posted on Youtube a day.
We are being flooded with new information and content.
So we know that is not the issue.
The issue is remembering and recalling the information.
Dr. Samuel Johnson said, “People need to be reminded more often than they need to be instructed.”
Even though this quote is 300 years old it still rings true today.
It might even be more true today.
We do not have to search for the newest life hack or silver bullet that will change our life.
We have to be reminded that small daily changes over a period of time can make a big impact.
We know a lot of quotes and read plenty of books that serve as platitudes.
But are we being reminded of them? Are we implementing them into our lives.
One of the best ways to be reminded is through reflection.
Daily, weekly, or monthly reflection helps us remember where we have been.
And be able to direct where we are going.
Before we seek instruction lets see what we need to be reminded of.
Go out and make a difference.
P.S. - Samuel Johnson is most famous for writing The American Dictionary in the 18th century which contained 45,000 words.
