Purpose & Pleasure
“When a person can't find a deep sense of meaning, they distract themselves with pleasure” - Viktor Frankl
Distractions kill more dreams then anything else.
It is getting harder and harder to focus in this world.
The average attention span is shrinking and games, apps, movies, shows, etc are getting more addicting.
We are in a constant battle for our own attention.
We are being distracted to death.
Everything around us is screaming for our attention.
How do we silence the screams?
Through purpose.
Purpose is your North Star - it helps you silence the noise.
Your attention is of extreme value. That is why companies spend millions and millions of dollars in order to try to capture it.
Because once they have your attention they can get you to make a decision.
The problem is that the majority of the distractions out there are not worth your attention.
The only things that are worth your attention are the steps that take you closer to your dreams.
The rest is noise that needs to be avoided.
The best way to avoid distraction is to find your purpose.
Purpose is the antidote to distraction.
If you don’t know what your purpose is then your purpose is to find it.
Purpose does not reveal herself easily and she can be hard to catch.
But when you find it you will know and distractions will ceases.
Go out and kill distractions. Go out and make a difference.
