Knowledge Is Not Power
The times are changing. The world is evolving.
The upward trend of innovation is not linear but exponential.
As of right now a basic iPhone 14 (not even the newest one) has 7,894 times more computing power than the greatest computer in 1985, the Cray-2.
In just 30 years we were able to increase the functionality of a computer by almost 10,000 times.
The next 30 years are primed for more innovation than we have ever seen before.
With the rise in functional technology and super computers in the pockets of majority of Americans, the playing fields have become leveled out by the information that is availability to everyone with an internet connection.
We live in an age flooded with information.
But information is not power, knowledge is no longer power.
If you look back through history when information was not as available, knowledge was power.
The Manhattan Project granted the US and extreme amount of power, allowing the Atomic bomb to be a deciding factor in brining World War 2 to an end.
By the early studies of astrology people were able to travel great distance without getting lost, allowing them to trade with regions that had goods not available in their location.
The knowledge of the manufacturing process and steam powered engines gave birth to the industrial revolution allowing the creation of industries and military power.
When knowledge was scarce it had extreme power because the people who acted on it gained an extreme advantage.
Now a days, knowledge is not scarce. We have access to more knowledge than ever before.
Therefore, as the world is evolving, knowledge is no longer power. Action is power.
It does not matter how many books you read or podcast you listen to. It matters how you are actioning those pieces of content.
You will not be set apart by just knowing all the latest and greatest self-helps books.
You will be set apart by intentionally actioning on the information you already know.
Be biased towards extreme action for it is what you do, not what you know, that will set you apart.
Knowledge is not power, action is power.
Go out this week with an emphasis on action. Seize the day with tangible steps towards your goals.
Knowing that your actions will set you apart more than anything else.
Let’s be people of action in this apathetic information filled world.
Go out and do. Go out and make a difference.
