In one way or another I think we have all “lost heart” before.
Something happened and the job we once loved now feels like a chore.
We take a few weeks off and it becomes hard to get back into the gym.
Life gets busy and we can’t maintain a healthy diet anymore.
We lose the motivation, the energy, and the passion we once had.
We lost heart.
But we can find it again.
I think a better way to say we “lost heart” is to say we lost the “feeling.”
The “feeling” of working hard, going to the gym, or eating healthy.
This can be for hundreds of reasons but honestly that doesn’t really matter.
What matters is getting back on track and finding your heart in that specific area.
The best way to find your heart is to lead with your hands and wait for your heart to catch up.
Don’t feel like going to the gym? Go anyways.
Don’t feel like reconciling a broken relationship. Reconcile anyway.
Lead with your hands and watch your heart follow.
We just can’t always trust our heart.
Our heart does not typically look out for our highest good.
More often than not our heart is looking out for what is the most comfortable.
So don’t “follow your heart.”
Let your heart follow.
Everytime I go to gym after not feeling like it, I feel better.
Everytime I read when I don’t feel like reading, I feel better.
Everytime I eat healthy and drive past Mcdonald’s without stopping, I feel better.
You can’t always control your heart but you can always control your hands.
Go out and find your heart. Go out and make a difference.
