The person who is having fun will win in the end.

This concept is very similar to the “enjoy the journey, not the destination” proverb.

“The person who has the most fun wins” credited to Ed Headrick but recently popularized by James Clear.

These are words to live by.

Fun is a pretty subjective term, as in different people define different activities as fun.

Some people love roller coasters and would consider a day at Six-Flags the best day ever.

While those who are terrified of heights would consider that the worst day ever.

The same goes with reading, sports, cooking, exercising, etc.

Fun is centered around what you enjoy.

The person who is having fun will outwork and outlast the person who is not having fun.

That is why I like to view people’s ability to have fun as a competitive edge.

For example, the person who loves basketball and finds enjoyment in working on his skills will, in the long run, become a better basketball player than the one who does not enjoy it as much.

It sounds obvious in regards to activities that are typically recreational.

But the concept applies in the professional setting also.

Take the person who learns to love making cold calls for his company.

He figures out the game, practices the game, and learns to embrace the rejection.

He will succeed over the person who hates making cold calls.

Fun, laughter, enjoyment are not only a key part of life but also a key part of success.

He who has fun will win in the end. Let’s be the person who is having fun.

Go out and have fun. Go out and make a difference.
