Eat The Frog First
“If it is your job to eat the frog, it is best to do it first thing in the morning.” - Mark Twain
Do the hard thing first.
This is a concept I don’t really understand but I know it to be true.
If you are trying to stop procrastination and increase your productivity try doing the hardest task on your to-do list first.
Here is why.
Momentum is a real and powerful concept.
It can either work for you or against you.
By doing the hardest task first you are allowing for the momentum to work for you.
But by waking up and dosing your brain in dopamine while doom scrolling, you set your day up for failure.
You allow the momentum to work against you.
Making harder to do the tasks you need to do and much easier to get distracted or lose motivation.
Own and win the day.
Winning the day starts with your very first decision.
Are you going to hit the snooze button and crave comfort or are you going to get up and workout, read, journal, or walk? (options are endless).
If you are struggling finding the motivation to finish your to-do list, reflect on your first choice of the day.
I am not saying this is the silver bullet that it will fix all your problems and make the hardest task a breeze.
But try it for yourself and see. It will be worth it.
Build your own momentum and win the day.
Do the hard thing first. Eat the frog in the morning.
Go out and make a difference.
