For better or for worse… it is just not very hard to be different.

And by different, I mean set apart for a positive reason.

I want to share some stats that I look over from time to time.

They are sobering and provide a healthy level of motivation.

42% of college graduates will never read and finish another book post graduation. (based on soft survey results but I think the point stands.)

Half of your peers will not challenge their thinking from authors who have spent time studying and writing about certain topics.

You want to be set apart? Read a book.

Adults stay focused on a screen for an average of 47 seconds now. That is down from 2+ minutes in the early 2000s.

We are addicted to entertainment and it is decreasing our ability to focus on the stuff that actually matters.

We have lost the ability to be still and think deeply.

You want to be different? Start fighting against cheap dopamine in your life.

80% of New Year’s resolutions will fail by February. 23% will quit within a few weeks.

It is easy to set big goals. Starting a workout plan, going on a diet, ect.

It is hard to follow through.

You want to be different? Then do what you set out to do.

Follow through on one of your lost goals and set yourself apart!

The bar to set yourself apart is not far away.

It just takes intentionality.

If you want to be different, change the direction of your life, and set yourself apart from your peers than start here.

Start by picking up a book, start by resisting the temptation to check your phone, start by making progress towards your abandoned goal.

There is no better time than right now to be different.

Go out and make a difference.
