3 Mental Frameworks For Life
Differentiators,
For a change of pace this week, I want to offer you three mental frameworks that have dramatically improved my life. Enjoy.
Life Long Learner
“Once you stop learning, you start dying” - Albert Einstein
How committed are you to learning? Do you prioritize it like you prioritize your health? According to Einstein, you really should.
Being a lifelong learner does not mean you have to listen to podcasts every time you get in the car or read 10 pages of a book every day. Being a lifelong learner is about committing to never stop being open to new experiences. Learning is the lifeblood of developing and becoming the kind of people we want to be. The only way to tap into our unlimited potential is to never stop learning.
Very few things I would commit my life to but learning is one of them and you should too.
Who Are You Voting For?
“You make your habits, then your habits make you.” - John Dryden
A friend told me “In every decision you make you cast a vote, you are casting a vote for the person you want to be.” it changed the way I see decisions. Most of our decisions are small but it is these small votes that add up over time. Take a vote for who you want to be. Start with your first decision of the day, getting up in the morning, choose to fully wake up on your first alarm.
Cast votes for who you want to be
Do Not Bring A Problem Without A Solution
A few years back, I met with a mentor, and on our first meeting, I laid out the problems I had and how I wanted his help to solve them. He looked at my list of problems and told me to bring a list of solutions next time we meet.
Everyone can point out problems, that happens all over social media, that is the easy thing to do. It is much harder to point out a problem and follow it up with a solution but that is what will set you apart. The next problem you need to bring to your spouse, friend, or boss bring a solution, and if you do not have a solution then explain how you will get the solution.
Be a part of the solution. Be willing to help. Be set apart by your actions. Offer solutions.
Go out. Make a difference.
